TECHNICAL COMMITTE ON MEDICAL LABORATORIES

The state standard of the Republic of Belarus STB ISO 15189:2015 Medical laboratories -- Requirements for quality and competence was developed in 2015 (come into effect from June 16, 2016). In order to address technical issues related to the assessment of medical laboratories against STB ISO 15189:2015 a Technical Committee on Medical Laboratories is established in the National Accreditation System of the Republic of Belarus.

The first meeting of the Technical Committee took place on February 17, 2016. The meeting was attended by leading experts in the field of laboratory diagnosis from a variety of the country's health institutions. The agenda of the meeting focused in:

· BSCA’s transition policy to the new version of international standard ISO 15189:2012;

· Development of the scope of accreditation for laboratories performing clinical microbiological research of biological material;

· Technical codes for assessors;

· Action plan for 2016
