International conference

On May 31, 2019, in Minsk, Belarus, the Belarusian State Centre for Accreditation (BSCA) organized and hosted an international conference “Business Development Using Technical Regulation Instruments. Reducing technical barriers to trade and international recognition of accreditation”.

BSCA became a signatory of ILAC MRA (in the fields of testing and calibration) as well as IAF MLA (in the fields of certification of management systems, products and persons) in October, 2018. In this light one of the primary goals of the conference was to highlight the advantages of being a signatory to ILAC MRA and IAF MLA as well as establish confidence in the quality infrastructure among regulators, exporters, producers and consumers.

The conference was as well aimed at establishing effective interaction between quality infrastructure bodies and business representatives in order to increase the competitiveness of Belarusian products and diversify Belarusian exports.

The conference was held in the format of discussions at thematic panel sessions:

This event became a platform for active discussion of pressing issues in the field of technical regulation and their impact on business development, as well as product promotion in various markets. The event was attended by representatives of the republican government bodies, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives of the country's business associations, as well as major Belarusian manufacturers-exporters. Representatives of accreditation bodies of the partner countries of the Republic of Belarus (Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Georgia, Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and others) shared their experience on the role of international recognition of accreditation for the economy and business.
