World Standards Day 2021

Each year on October 14 the members of IEC, ISO and ITU celebrate World Standards Day, which is a means of paying tribute to the collaborative efforts of thousands of experts worldwide who develop the voluntary technical agreements that are published as International Standards.

In Belarus the Standards Day has been a professional holiday since 2000, emphasizing the importance of this activity for the government, economy, society and recognizing the involvment of thousands in its development.

The motto of the Standards Day 2021 is OUR SHARED VISION FOR A BETTER WORLD .

The leaders of three leading international standards organizations IEC, ISO and ITU emphasise that “The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which project to address social imbalances, develop a sustainable economy, and slow the rate of climate change, are highly ambitious. To reach them will require the cooperation of many public and private partners, and the use of all available tools, including international standards and conformity assessment".

Traditionally, on the Standards Day Gosstandart organizations hold varioyus subject-related events all over the country. The main purpose of these events is to draw attention to activities in the field of technical regulation and standardization, improve the quality and competitiveness of domestic products, as well as reflect the role of standards in solving issues that are urgent for society.
